History of Desert Date Oil
The desert date palm is a tree from tropical Africa, on the edge of the Sahel desert in northern Burkina Faso. It is also known as the "wild date palm", and is a hardy tree with long, deep roots that allow it to withstand the drought typical of desert arid soils.
The Date Palm of the Desert has an invaluable value in the fight against deforestation. This century-old tree can reach 9 meters in height, providing a large shaded area where other plants can grow between its roots.
